I have had this wine half a dozen times this fall and featured it in several Bordeaux zoom seminars for its classic, pure expression of it’s left bank terroir. A blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc grown in deep gravel with clay and limestone soil over sandstone, marl and limestone. Located in the “high rent district” next to Château Latour, close to the Gironde river, and just across the road from Pichon Baron as well, its pedigree couldn’t be better. If you want 2nd growth Pichon Lalande character at a fraction of the price, this is your wine! Drink now with a 30 minute decanting, or over the next 4-6 years at least. Cheers!
