“Lovely pale salmon/pink hue, dry, crisp and fresh and bright, and everything a classic French rosé should be! On the palate there are hints of red fruits, melon, and citrus, and it drinks WAY above its modest price tag. Stock up on this incredible bargain and enjoy the beautiful spring weather!” Chris Cree MW, Cree Wine Company
It is said that April showers bring May flowers, and we are getting them today. But the forecast is looking up – sunny and dry with temperatures even reaching the 70’s by next week. To coincide with this early spell of spring weather we’ve just received the newest release of my perennial favorite affordable rose – the 2021 Moulin de Gassac from the sunny south of France. Perfect for everyday enjoyment with friends and family, I am sure we drink more of this wine every year at maison Cree than any other wine! Wine is in stock now and open to taste all weekend. Cheers! Chris
You might ask “how can a $10 wine be this good?” Great question! With the meteoric rise in the popularity of rosé wine, there has also been an explosion in new wineries and new brands on the market. But many, especially in the value category, are less than great (to say the least!) But this incredible bargain isn’t from some upstart winery that recently jumped on the rosé bandwagon. It’s made by the venerable Mas Daumas Gassac, one of the top wineries in the Languedoc. Founded by Aimé & Véronique Guibert in 1974 they went on to put the Languedoc on the map as a top notch wine region, where they put the Languedoc on the map as a fine wine region with their delicious Mas Daumas Gassac wines.
But while their top estate wines are in the $60-$75 plus range, they also put the same amount of care and attention to their inexpensive wines! It’s made from select parcels of 25-50 year old vines in clay and limestone soils that are farmed with organic practices. Grapes are destemmed 100%, made with direct pressing, then fermented in stainless steel to retain the wine’s delicate fruit flavors and crisp, clean acidity and precision. Wine is in stock and ready to go!
