Elio Grasso has long been considered one of Italy’s best producers. If you ask anybody their key to success, the answer is simple: their vineyards. The Grasso family’s motto themselves is that the winemaking is not nearly as important as the land– and for the Grasso’s there is no greater asset.
Their Barbera d’Alba Vigna Martina drawn off sandy, limestone based hills is expressive and deeply concentrated. Made in stainless steel, the wine has roaring energy and offers a full symphony of juicy red fruits, sage and earth. The tannins are long and fine with a finish that goes on for a mile.
