Domaine de Montille Bourgogne Blanc Clos du Château de Puligny-Montrachet 2017

“The 2017 Bourgogne exudes Puligny classiness, from its brilliantly focused aromas to its mineral laden fruit, bright, crisp tones, solid fruit core, although to its long, precise finish. Fermented in demi-muids (large 600 liter oak casks) to keep oak integrated and subtle, it is balanced and polished, showing a pedigree well beyond its “Bourgogne” level appellation.” – Chris Cree MW, Cree Wine Company

Referred to by Etienne De Montille as "mon chou chou", a term of endearment meaning "my favorite", the Clos du Chateau is a nervier step up from the Bourgogne Blanc and clearly portrays the qualities of it’s home of Puligny. Truly one of the great values of this prime village. – Domaine de Montille

89-91 Vinous – The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Clos du Château matures in just 5% new 600-litre and 500-litre barrels, has a potent bouquet with white peach and vanilla aromas, quite forward and very attractive. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, lightly spiced with pear and hints of gooseberry on the taut and linear finish. Maybe the best I have encountered from the five-hectare clos.
