In a one hour zoom seminar Chris will take us through the wine as we taste, learn, and explore what makes this arguably the best place in the world for Chardonnay. The grape, the unique “terroir” of Burgundy’s different regions, and winemaking methods will all be discussed, illustrated by a trio of wines that can be delivered locally, picked up curbside or shipped to most states.
The Wines in order of Tasting with pairing ideas:
Domaine Joseph Drouhin Vaudon Chablis 2019
Meurgey-Croses Mâcon Uchizy 2018
Domaine de Montille Bourgogne Blanc Clos du Château de Puligny-Montrachet 2017
Pairing Ideas:
Below is a list of classic Burgundian dishes and others that match perfectly with these food friendly white wines. While some of these suggestions are quite complicated and time consuming, there are plenty of easy options too! I list them here to present a picture of what types of cuisine these wines are best suited with. Feel free to go simple and just nosh on something like a selection of cheeses and charcuterie. But if you are feeling inspired, summon your inner Julia Child and prepare a few classic Burgundian treats to taste along with the seminar, or a full-on Burgundian feast to enjoy after the tasting!
See you online soon – Cheers! Chris
