Chateau Coutelin-Merville Saint Estephe 2016
Château Coutelin Merville is a Cru Bourgeois located in St. Estephe. The estate has been under the ownership of the Estager family for over 100 years. The terroir is a mixture of calcareous clay and limestone and the vineyard has a surface area of 26 hectares, with a planting density of 8,300 vines per hectare.Today, Bernard and Francois are in charge of the domain and follow sustainable practices in the vineyard. The estate covers 30 hectares, with 26 hectares planted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wine is aged for approximately 18 months in oak barrels, of which 20-40% is new. All of the red Bordeaux in this month’s offering are perfect with everything from roasted or chicken, duck breast, pork loin or chops, burgers, steaks, and a wide range of cheeses.
