Château Bernadotte Haut-Medoc 2016

93 James Suckling

Much of the hard work of transforming the estate at Chateau Bernadotte was performed in a partnership with Louis Roederer and Chateau Pichon Longueville. Bernadotte got the same team and treatment as its big brother with facilities and vineyard/winemaking teams far exceeding its budgets. So far, the results have been exceptional.

This one leads off with lovely aromas of cedar, cassis, earth and oak that make up its beautiful

bouquet, followed on the palate by solid dark fruit and earth tones, deep yet balanced and

classy, with moderate tannins and a long, lingering finish. If you love great Bordeaux but not the

price this is your wine! Perfect for summer grilling with chicken, duck, burgers, steaks, chops

and more! Delicious now – open an hour ahead or decant if you can, and will drink great for 5-6

years more at least.

Country: France

Region: Bordeaux, Medoc, Haut-Medoc

James Suckling 93 – “This has aromas of boysenberries and dark berries with a wealth of bracken and gently tarry aromas, too. The palate has a fresh, fleshy and quite concentrated feel with fine tannins that hold the finish long. A blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot. Try from 2023.”
