Cameron Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir 2019

"We proudly introduce 2019 release of Ribbon Ridge Pinot noir, this year for the first time exclusively from White Oak Vineyard. It presents with deep aromas of cocoa nib, caramel, black currant, and red raspberry and a palate packed with bing cherry, baking spices, cedar and mushroom. The tannins are persistent, but not aggressive. We imagine it pairing well with savory meals such as game birds or Middle Eastern spiced lamb."

"Fruit from this tiny vineyard (less than 2 acres) in the Ribbon Ridge AVA is lovingly farmed by famed cider apple grower Alan Foster. Because the soil at his property is so reminiscent of Montforte in the Barolo area of Piedmont, Italy, Alan planted Nebbiolo here in 2006. He also planted about an acre of Pinot noir in the same year and recently added several rows of Martin Ray clone.

Fruit from Ribbon Ridge is always intense with loads of structure in the wine. His fruit is incorporated into our Ribbon Ridge Pinot noir, and Willamette Valley Nebbiolo."

"Ask any Oregon wine insider about great winemakers and the name John Paul Cameron comes up in hushed and reverent tones. His eponymous Cameron Winery has been around since 1984, but its legendary status often does not resonate outside Oregon because of the very limited distribution of these wines. Moreover, his fanatical attention to the farming and the winemaking leaves little time for marketing and fancy wine dinners among his devoted followers."
