Cameron Winery’s focus on sustainable farming demands a level of care and attention that is evident in every last drop of the wine they produce. John Paul started Cameron in 1984 after deciding he’d rather make wine than use his PhD in marine biochemistry. Now Cameron produces 3,000 to 4,000 cases of high quality, hand-crafted and sustainably-farmed wine a year. Part of Cameron’s effort to farm sustainably is to operate as a non-irrigated vineyard, so the vine’s roots grow deep into the Willamette Valley’s iron rich soil and produce a wine unique to this part of the world.
Clos Electrique has always been a homage to wines of Burgundy. The combination of use of traditional techniques as well as the vineyard’s composition of old Burgundy clones produces an extraordinary yield. The organic farming techniques and non-irrigated model produced the deepest, darkest, Pinot ever from Cameron in 2018. cameronwines.com
