Bodegas Hermanos Pecina Rioja Senorio de P. Pecina Cosecha 2020

One of the biggest hits at Friday night’s Farm to Table fundraiser for the Women’s Association Morristown Medical Center event we helped support was the amazing Rioja Cosecha we poured from Bodegas Hermanos Pecina. Paired with a marinated flank steak, grilled broccoli, and basil chimichurri, it was off the charts!

Pecina has long been one of my all-time favorite Rioja producers – always over achieving and offering incredible bang for the buck wines. The Cosecha 2020 is a perfect example of what you get from Pecina – classic old school Rioja. No wonder – founder Pedro Peciña worked for over 20 years as the head agronomist for La Rioja Alta, one of the top producers in the region.

It’s a blend 95% Tempranillo, 3% Graciano, 2% Garnacha that is medium deep ruby purple in color, from hand harvested grapes grown in their estate vineyards around the San Vicente area of Rioja Alta – some of the best vineyard land in Rioja.

It leads off with aromas of dark cherry, spices, cigar box, and is amazingly complex for a wine at this price! It follows up on the palate with loads of supple black cherry fruit, round tannins and a long lingering finish. Truly exceptional for the price, this is a perfect summer red. Enjoy it with steaks, chops, burgers and more. In stock now!
