“A pale yet radiant pink color adorned with warm glints of gold. This cuvée unveils a subtle aroma leading to an elegant, delicate bouquet of fine notes of red berries and zest of citrus fruits. Its special method of vinification gives this cuvée a light, elegant flavor followed by a fresh finish with a taste of raspberry. This cuvée is an ideal partner as an aperitif and can also accompany a dish of wild salmon or sushi. For dessert, it will add a sublime touch to red fruit flavors.” Billecart-Salmon

Country: France

Region: Champagne

Varieties: 20% Pinot Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir, 50% Chardonnay

Terroir: chalky terroir of Côte des Blancs

Winemaking: "With no skin-contact maceration to avoid tannins and to preserve freshness and lightness, the Rosé is blended with Pinot Noir and vinified as a red wine, which yields richness and “vinosité”.

It all started in 1818 when Nicolas François Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon were married, marking the creation of their Champagne House. This has been a family story since the beginning with Louis Salmon, brother of Elisabeth and a passionate oenologist, getting involved in the creation of the wines. Thus, over 7 generations, each member of the family has endeavored to continue the family tradition, staying faithful to the same motto: ‘Give priority to quality, strive for excellence.’" Billecart-Salmon

96 Wilfred Wong of – “This could be my desert island wine, every time I have tasted the non-vintage Billecart-Salmon Rose, my palate tingles with unabashed excitement. This bubbly is so elegant and refined; bursts with aromas and flavors of wild strawberries; gentle yet crisp on the palate; active in the finish. Perfect with fresh salmon sashimi.”

94 James Suckling – “A gorgeous rosé Champagne with sliced strawberries, orange peel and hints of cream and pie crust. Medium body, tight and integrated tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Tangy acidity. The texture shows a fine bead and lightness. Long and intense. Drink now.”

93 Wine Spectator – “A lovely rosé in an almost vinous style, with mouthwatering acidity and a fine, lacy mousse carrying appealing flavors of ripe raspberry, white cherry fruit, star anise, mandarin orange peel and honeysuckle. Lightly chalky on the lasting finish. Enjoy with food. Drink now through 2020.”

93 Decanter – “Gentle red fruits rise from the glass. In the mouth it’s attractively bright and youthful, with citrus and cranberry notes. The very fresh acidity and primary fruits give way to autolytic notes and cappuccino with time, followed by a long, savoury, saline finish. Drinking Window 2019 – 2028”

92 Wine Enthusiast – “The palest of rosés, this is an elegant, structured wine. Its dryness is balanced by the fine apple and red-currant fruits and the strong sense of minerality. Fragrant and lightly structured, this fine bottling is ready to drink.”

90 Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate – “Based on the 2016 vintage, the new NV Brut Rosé from Billarcart-Salmon has turned out nicely, mingling notes of red berries and plums with notions of peach, dried flowers and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and elegant, it’s bright and charming, with a generous core of fruit, racy acids and a pinpoint mousse. Giving and demonstrative, it’s already drinking well.”
